FAQ
How many books will be in the Blood Coven series?
Right now there are six books in the series - with books five and six (Night School, Blood Ties) coming out in January and August 2011. There may be more books after that, but that's all that have been contracted to this date. The best way to ensure more books are published is to support the series and tell your friends. I will continue to write the books as long as my publisher buys them.
Will the series be made into a movie or TV show?
The film rights for the series have not be optioned at this time. We can always keep our fingers crossed Hollywood will discover the series someday! However, if it does, I will have little control over anything such as casting and storyline.
Will you come do a book signing in my home town?
I wish I could go everywhere, but you guys are all around the world and there's only one of me. I will do school and library visits, so if you're interested in hearing me speak, talk to your school librarian or teacher and see if they sponsor author visits. Also, I post my upcoming appearances on Facebook.
I am writing a report on the books for school. Can I interview you?
I'm happy to answer a couple questions, but since I'm busy writing the next book, I may not always be able to meet your deadline. So let me know when you need the answers by when you request an interview.
I'm an author, too! Can you read some of my work?
Sadly, I'm busy writing and can't read everyone's work. So I have to make it a policy to not read any at all, to be fair to everyone. If you join the Blood Coven vampire in training program, then you can post your work on the forums and fellow Blood Coven fans will give you feedback.
How do I get published like you?
There's no magical formula for publication and every writer takes a slightly different path. Finish your book, first and foremost, then go online and look for an agent that represents your style of book. Most agents have websites now. I'd also suggest you check out the fabulous FAQ that fellow YA author Ally Carter has set up on her website. She says it better than I could myself!
How do I join the Blood Coven?
Just go to the link on this website and apply. It may take a few weeks to hear back. Magnus is very busy and sometimes gets overwhelmed with applications.
Does joining the Blood Coven cost money?
No, it's a free program.
I'm not supposed to give out my address.
Totally understandable! You can become an online member if you don't want to give our your address. But you will not get the membership kit in the mail. You can change your mind later or have the kit sent to your parents' work address if they feel that's safer.
Do you believe vampires are real?
I think there are a lot of things out there that we don't know about. So why not? As Fox Mulder said on the X-Files: I Want to Believe.
